Mr. CC Mullis takes the Checkered Flag at the USAR 100 at Concord Motor Sport Park this past Saturday. Mullis raced only 6 times in 08 and won 3 of the 6 features he entered. He received his old #9 back from CMP officials, after having to change numbers earlier in the year.

No comment on what the 09 plans are at this point.

Been a while since I "updated" this side of the site, but here it goes........

After racing and winning in 2 of the 4 1st races at CMS, Chad Mullis, experienced engine troubles and with there two businesses, he has not had time to take the engine to the builder in NC.

However CMP announced new rules for 2009 and there won't any hurry for the Mullis Team. CMP announced a new chassis configuration and crate 604 engine package for 2009. Chad has not announced any plans for 2009 and isnt sure if he will, you just never know with him.

Chad has expressed an interest in building a car for the October races at LMS, however that will up entirely up to him and what he wants to do.

Chad Mullis qualified on the pole for the 75 lap main event at CMS with a time of 16.407 seconds, or 109.709 miles per hour. Chad took the lead after racing side by side with Jeff Melton thru the first 12 laps. Mullis powered ahead coming off of turn 4 and never looked back to take his 2nd victory on the season in as many chances.

You took the good and the bad like a true champion an knew you couldnt win them all, but you got most of them. You took that "ole Red Rocket" which is about what 5 years old? and didnt let that be an excuse for not winning this season or last. You took that motor and ole car an tookem too school in 2007. You didnt blame this an that if you didnt win, as ole DW would say you got up on that wheel and took control.

My vips are Rachel we have been together 6 years.
My dad he does all the work on the Red Rocket. Know him for 26 years.

Any plans for “lil red rocket”?
No plans for a lil red rocket as of right now. Rachel says never a lil red rocket.

How long have you been racing and what was your 1st race car? I have been racing for 6 years. My first race car was a mustang.

Does racing run in your family? If so how and with whom?
Yes racing runs in the family it started with my great grandpa, Billy Causey and David Taylor drove for him. My dad raced for about 12 years off and on.

When was your 1st win? My first win came in 2002 at Lancaster speedway.

What your favorite beverage? Natrual Light.

Boxers or Briefs for Red Rocket? Red Rocket wears boxers.

Red Rocket did that come from the race car or from another Rocket? Red Rocket came from the race car, "I GUESS"

Whats the best piece of racing advice you have received and from whom? Go fast and trun left.

What a nice weekend -- Monday, April 23 2007
Friday night I had the honor to attend the Kenny Chesney Concert in Columbia, then Saturday I was invited to Summers Birthday Party, and so was Uncle Blue. Later that night I got to take Logan to his 1st Charlotte Knights baseball game, just me and my lil boy! He watched the whole game from my knee and watched more than I thought he ever would! We stayed till the 6th inning made a quick stop at the souvenir shop before we headed home!
